Tennant leaving Doctor Who after 4 specials in 2009

With a post-date in the future (how appropriate): David Tennant leaving Dr. Who after the four 2008-2009 specials.

WTF, last I heard he was planning on doing the full 2010 season before regenerating?!

This is going to make life really difficult for Moffat when he takes over...

FINALLY! I really liked the ninth doctor (Christopher Eccleston) and was so mad when he left after just the one season. I thought Tennant was a poor choice, and while he grew on me, I just didn't like him as much. I hope the next doctor is a bit less comedic and a bit more dark.

honestly, I couldn't disagree with you more concerning 9th/10th. Eccleston has replaced my "least favorite Doctor" position long held from the Colin Baker days. I almost gave up on the new series because of his thuggish demeanor.
